Nicholas Sparks

"The Notebook"

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Some of us will be celebrating it with our loved ones creating our own love story while the other half of the planet will be gorging on chocolate and curled up in bed drowning in their sorrows.

What better way to curl up under the covers and cry your eyes out than to do so while reading your favorite love story.

Whether it is a new classic such as "Twilight" or an old favorite like "Pride and Prejudice" these stories keep reminding us of what were missing out on.

Leading the Valentine’s parade down the avenue of sickening love is Nicholas Sparks.

Through old classics and new creations he keeps reminding us what it feels like to have your heart ripped out. He does this so well readers may even cry when I mention my favorite love novel, "The Notebook."

"The Notebook" has been a favorite since it hit the shelves in October 1996 and made The New York Times best-seller list the week it was released.

The story is packed full of love and tragedy that is sure to make readers cry each time through. Not to mention it is thought to be a true story, which makes it even more sickening to read.

Because of this, women will be forever looking for their own Noah to make their hearts skip a beat.

As much as some hate it or are sick of it, the novel that achieved a cult following offered something new to the love scene readers of romance novels had not seen in a long time.

"Twilight" brings forth the forbidden love story with a bite that is sure to make our hearts race as we imagine the forbidden love between a vampire and a mortal.

"Twilight" is the modern love story teens and adults are swooning over. There is something about love and the bad boy that every good girl wants to find.

For years to come, this novel is sure to be opened on Valentine’s Day with tears gracing its pages and ice cream smudges found on the corners.

A Valentine’s Day pity party would not be complete without our favorite classic valentines, Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy of "Pride and Prejudice."

"Pride and Prejudice" is a tangled love story of two people coming from different lifestyles that soon become intertwined. The love that is threatened by social standing and wealth prevails, allowing us all to dream of finding our Mr. Darcy.

Though this novel is often looked over in the bookstore in the modern day, it will never been forgotten as one of the favorite classic love stories.

For those of you looking for a more realistic read this Valentine’s Day, "Other People’s Love Letters: 150 Letters You Were Never Meant to See" by Bill Shapiro is sure to get your tear ducts dripping and your heart fluttering as you read the real life love stories of couples all over the world.

Shapiro searched attics, closets and trunks for letters to put this collection together giving us hope for our own realistic love letters that are sure to be coming. This book is the most modern way to uncover the love stories of the real world.

Now that I have provided a list stories to pack onto your Kindle, don’t forget the ice cream and the chocolate this Valentine’s Day.
