"D-List" reality star Kathy Griffin, released her first book titled "Official Book Club Selection: A Memoir According To Kathy Griffin."
Griffin is known for her blunt comedy on every aspect of life, even her own.
The reality star has been nominated for a Grammy for her comedy CD as well as receiving multiple Emmy Awards for her reality TV show.
It's safe to say Griffin's comedy has seen every outlet of the entertainment industry, but the most entertaining yet is her latest book.
Griffin's book contains jokes and sarcasm poking fun at her life before and after she reached fame. It begins with a letter to Oprah telling her when she finishes her book she wants a school risen in her name.
The book is full of pictures of Griffin throughout monumental moments in her life – including photos of her wedding and Griffin after undergoing the plastic surgery that almost cost her life.
Griffin leaves nothing out in the comedic memoir, not even pointless encounters with celebrities like Paris Hilton and Joan Rivers.
Readers will forget they are actually reading the story of someone's life as they get lost in the jokes and sarcasm that is Griffin.
The comedian does a great job of combining her inspirational story and humor in a way that leaves readers wanting more.
Even the chapter titles are bluntly and sarcastically name, such as "Reinventing Myself: Just Like Madonna!" and "I'm a Star! (Okay, a Guest Star.)"
Only Griffin can get away with poking fun at herself while making her way to the top.
I normally don't read memoirs, but this one proved to be different. It is a memoir full of life and happiness that Griffin portrays in a unique way.
Rather than explaining why she did things, she explains why she won't do them again and looks at the bright side of the situation.
This memoir won't bring tears to your eyes by breaking your heart, but by making you laugh so hard you cry.
Not only is Griffin an award- winning television star but is also proving to be a pretty good author as well.
This book will not make it to the literary scholar's bookshelf, but it will get recognized as an entertaining read.
If you enjoy Griffin's stand up comedy and reality show, this book is sure to be a pleasing read.
