Papa Roach

Papa Roach plays at Club Octane Saturday.

Club Octane will host Banks’ Black & White Birthday Bash Saturday, which will include a concert by rock band Papa Roach.

Papa Roach gained mainstream success in the early 2000s, particularly with major radio hits like "Last Resort" and "Scars."

Other performances include Trapline, Desalitt, DJ South and This Sixth Day.

Trapline is a progressive rock band from Uniontown, Pa., and The Sixth Day is a Saltville, Va., based rock band that fluctuates between acoustic, alternative and death metal genres.

Desalitt is a rock band traveling from Xenia, Ohio, and has opened for national acts like Skid Row, Jackyl and John Corabi, a former member of ’80s rock band Motley Crue.

Black and/or white attire is required upon entering the club, and you must be 18 years or older to attend.

General admission tickets are $10, and VIP tickets are $20. The concert starts at 8 p.m.

Club Octane is located at 218 Walnut St.

I highly doubt they would try to do this twice in a row

They are promoting another touring act for this weekend at $20 a ticket. Some rapper named bonecrusher.

I wonder if this is a scam too.

I was personally told by Chris Banks that a guy named Matt from the DA contacted him and Chris gave him all the information that he asked for including the contract and detailed information between himself and Tenth Street Entertainment. Hopefully we will see a follow up story sometime in the near future.....As for Club Octane, well who knows what type of story they will come up with, I personally have been screwed over by this place numerous times in the past and nothing will ever change

Its the DA's responsibility to report accurate information and look out for the community. They gave this scam free press and that alone caused some people to go to the show. A follow up digging up the facts is all we ask.

Bob comes off as such a sleaze bag that doesn't know how to manage a bar. Sure the promotion company may have ripped him off but its his bar and his responsibility. He should have looked into the facts more instead of accepting a too good to be true offer.

GIVE THE PEOPLE THEIR MONEY BACK. I don't care if you pretend that you spent it all on promotion. Such it up, take the loss and stop stealing people's money.

It wasn't just $10 though. Some paid $20 and then spent even more at a bar that they wouldn't have been at otherwise. Its false advertising and criminal. No refunds for a scam is still a scam.

This bar is shady and worthless and can't get people in unless it lies like this. It has a reputation among all local bands of not paying out door money and treating the performers like dirt. They they can't get any acts that draw crowds and are desperate.

The DA had NOTHING AT ALL to do with this, so why keep blaming them for not getting a different story? I know why, because its NOT the story that YOU PERSONALLY want to hear......This last big "Anonymous" post claims that you think THEY are stalling because the money isnt there...YOU SAID YOURSELF that CHRIS gave all the money to Bob, so guess what (HE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE MONEY) and Bob took the money and used it for promotion and what not (HE DOESNT HAVE IT ANYMORE EITHER NOW) so get over yourself and go back to the 6 hours away that you came from

Here is an even better idea...Bob pays nothing and Chris pays nothing, because right on the tickets it says NO REFUNDS......I lost out $10 that night....woopty doo? What is $10? You will pay more than that to go to a freaking movie or pay that as cover to just about any club in morgantown......so guess what, you got a FREE SHOW, all you paid was a cover charge.........Little kids whining, and from what I have read, this dude that keeps bitching (Justin) isnt even from around here....

Here's an idea. Bob pays half and chris pays half. Everyone gets their f*****g money back.

I've lost all respect for the DA. They are so busy writing 4 articles every single day about the student section but don't want to look into a serious issue of local students getting ripped off.

Here's an unofficial update fellas and ladies....Myself and two of my friends basically are the ones who got the ball rolling on making Papa Roach and their management aware of this whole thing...I honestly feel like i'm in the middle of this thing because both Octane and this Chris Banks dude are emailing me out the ying yang trying to reason with me for some reason..(i.e. telling me their horrible/pathetic sob stories) and i was the one who was in contact with Papa Roach's agent last week before Papa Roach made their post on their official website...Here's what's going on in my best guess...Octane and Chris Banks are battling each other trying to see who can get out of this without a scratch...They're both giving me emails telling me their side and view of what happened...they have both emailed (for some reason not called as i did) 10th Street Management and Papa Roach website telling them "THEIR" sides of the story...which could mean their both lying and trying to disprove each others lies to the source, Papa Roach...They are both wating on a response from P Roach, then, they're probably gonna try to sue each other for compensation and defamation.....Afterwards, we'll all figure out if we're getting our money back or not...Bob claims he used that money for promotion, contract/rider requirements, etc....Chris admits he gave all the money to Octane...The money WE paid is no longer there, so unless somebody gets sued, it WON'T be coming back...My complaint is two fold here...1. Papa Roach already made their statement claiming they had NOTHING to do with this and NO UNDERSTANDING of an apparent show...So what the HELL are Bob and Chris waiting for a response for???? Good F'n question...they're probably just stalling bc the money is no longer there...2..Why isn't the DA reporting on this....This is a HUGE story about scamming, lies, BAD BUSINESS of a local bar, and a big name band....if this isn't news worthy to the DA, then it just prooves they need to fire everybody from the top down and hire some people that can report properly on issues that people wanna know about...any of you that have specific questions for me can email me at justindanemiller@gmail.com...i'd be happy to let you in on this unfolding drama that's happening before my eyes...it's honestly got so many twists and turns in it that's it's like an episode of 24....so holler at me if you wanna know anything...

If the DA doesn't respond to this scam, I'm never reading it again.

I am sure I will NEVER get my money back on this as I was never given a "Ticket" that night, just a wristband...and I bought my vip ticket FROM CLUB OCTANE!

However, if Club Octane was the ones scammed by this, or by a fake agent, or whatever, then by all means keep my measley $20 as this is better than getting it back anyway

I think after reading all of the information from both papa roach and octane, it comes down to the scammers got scammed themselves.....Octane has pulled numerous scams off in the past with nothing every being down to them, and now it looks as though THEY were scammed by a fake booking agent everyone is calling "Jason"

Karma is a bitch, so they got what they deserved

The post on paparoach.com refers to them as "Janky Promoters" and says straight up that there was no contract. If this isn't news, I'm not sure what is.

WBOY-TV (Clarksburg/Fairmont/Morgantown) may be looking into this. If you are willing to comment on your experience, please call their news room at 304-326-6758.

HELL YEAH they do!!!! I mean, I understand they may have just been taking a story from "hear say," but it's time to do a proper follow up by the DA.......What's the wait all about DA???? get on it!!!! if you're a reputable reporting news source, let's hear something GOOD....go do your F'n job and hit the streets and get some info on this thing....all the info you could ever need is right on you doorstep.....do something positive for a change
wasn't there..

...but have been following this. Seems like the DA now has some 'splainin to do as Papa Roach has just confirmed that the whole thing was a scam.

I'll gladly write my name down here as a commenter on this issue...My name is Justin Dane Miller...I actually called 10th Street Management to get some clarity on this issue...if you look about 3 comments below this one you see, what i believe, to be a comment from somebody from their camp...(not sure, but highly possible)..the fact of the matter is this, plain and simple. There has to be a contract signed by a "Big Name" band to play a show like this because there is potentially alot of money involved. I'm talking 35K and above. Now, walk into Club Octane and tell me if YOU believe any of these fools can afford to pay that with ticket sales at 10 bucks apiece..the answer is NO...I PROMISE YOU THIS...PAPA ROACH SIGNED NO CONTRACT TO PLAY CLUB OCTANE ON THE 30TH!!!!! Don't blame Papa Roach, they had no clue they were supposed to be there...And i'm not saying blame Chris Banks (although he has something to do with this claiming through emails that he has a contract on his desk signed by 10th Street Management/Interscope Records)...I'm saying somebody has to own up to this! it's either this BOB guy, owner of Club Octane, or Chris himself for accepting money via paypal for the tickets for the "PAPA ROACH SHOW"...I'm still claiming FALSE ADVERTISEMENT...as the representitive from 10th Street Management told me over the phone, he or Papa Roach had NO CLUE as to a show in Morgantown at Club Octane...They ARE NOT on tour right now...it's possible to pay all these websites AND the DA itself to advertise...AND WHY ISN"T THE DA DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS?!?! simple answer is they're getting money from Club Octane to advertise...the DA won't right anything about this bc they don't wanna step on anybody's foot that they do business with...for those of you who believe Papa Roach was coming to Morgantown, I promise you this, we were all SCAMMED! Don't blame the band, they had no clue...Blame Club Octane OR Rising Sounds Management OR BOTH if you like...they are the ones who put the screws to us all...I want some justice here...i don't know if it will happen from Papa Roach's side bc this probably has happened more than once from all over the world...hopefully they will persue action against Club Octane or whoever is at fault. Bc we all know Bob of Club Octane or Chris Banks of Rising Sounds Management aren't gonna say they LIED about this...they think there's nothing we can do to proove them wrong...maybe not...but i sure as hell WILL give them a bad name bc that's BAD BUSINESS....
