The third edition of "Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay," a pen and paper game system, will be unveiled at the Morgantown Public Library for a sneak peek Saturday before it hits stores.

Released by Fantasy Flight Games, "Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay," puts players in the Warhammer world, based loosely on the Holy Roman Empire, but with the edition of goblins, elves and magic.

The event is hosted by Four Horsemen Comics and Gaming.

"Fantasy Flight Games wanted retail stores who would be carrying RPG books and supplies to have advance copies of the system so they could build up interest and get people – who maybe otherwise wouldn’t have heard of it – into it," said Ryan Brown, self-proclaimed Jedi General of Four Horsemen Comics and Games and avid roleplayer.

This event is also promotional for Four Horsemen to get people in the area to know them before opening doors for business.

"It’s the first event that the shop is doing. My personal desire is to see a real community come from events like these," Brown said. Brown also plans to give the WFRP system a try.

A Dungeon Master will run the sessions of five to six players. Players will take control of warriors and mages, rolling dice to attack the vile creatures they would encounter in the paper and pencil world. The Dungeon Master, will be running pre-made campaigns that will give the players a quick taste of the WFRP world.

Players will have to use premade characters for the game so as to save time and fit in as many games as possible, as well as give other people a chance to try the system, according to Brown.

"Four Horsemen Comics wants to create a place for gamers to come and discuss new games and rules. But most importantly, have a good time and provide feedback on how we could make their experience better," said Paden Wyatt, one of the minds behind Four Horsemen Comics and Gaming.

Four Horsemen Comics and Games is a shop that will expand on the gaming market in Morgantown, focused on tabletop games as well as miniature and card games.

Four Horsemen Comics and Gaming is expected to open its store on University Avenue next to Hillel House soon, but has not set an official date.

"Though the shop won’t be around for a little while, we still wanted to make it known in the community that we would be there for gamers and all their gaming needs," Wyatt said.

Everything, from dice and character sheets to snacks will be provided. Wyatt asks players only to bring "their friends, a sense of humor or adventure and some ideas of what they would like to see done at our shop."

The WFRP pre-release games will take place Saturday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Morgantown Public Library.

As of now the game has no offical release date, according to Fantasy Flight Games.
