Now that the weather is warming up, it's easy to go a little wardrobe crazy.
After months of bundling up in puffy jackets and boots, it's almost a thrill to throw on some sandals and a T-shirt before heading to class.
Unfortunately, some people get too carried away when it comes to dressing for spring, making serious fashion mistakes in the process.
One major mistake by some girls on West Virginia University's campus is wearing leggings and short T-shirts.
Leggings are not pants.
The proper way to wear leggings, which are quite comfortable and perfect for spring weather, is to pair them with a long tunic or sweater that hits just below the hip.
Anything that falls near the waist is too short and revealing, but it is a problem that can easily be fixed with a long tank top worn as an undershirt.
People may also be confused about what shoes to wear in this early spring weather.
Everything from boots to thong sandals can be seen around campus during the in-between of winter and spring.
Finding a middle ground is a good way to assess spring footwear.
It's time to put the Uggs away until next winter, but it is also still a bit chilly for sandals.
A light tennis shoe or ballerina flat is an appropriate option for this time of year.
Something that's never appropriate is a pair of Crocs – no matter how comfortable they may be, they still make any outfit look tacky.
This time of year can also be iffy when it comes to wearing warm-weather items like shorts and tank tops.
Girls can often be seen in shorts, which can be a little too revealing for weather that is still under 65 degrees.
A good alternative is a Bermuda short, which hits just above the knee and can be worn both casually and dressed up.
Tank tops should be saved for later in the semester, but for now it may be a good idea to layer them under items that can be easily removed, like sweaters or zip-up hooded sweatshirts. That way you can face chilly mornings and bask in the sunlight on nice afternoons.
No matter how you dress, just remember to enjoy the weather.
Spring is one of the best times of the year for new fashion, so live it up in bright colors that put your winter wardrobe to shame.
