Regan Bruni is the voice behind a new program developed to answer questions students have about West Virginia University in a convenient way.
Bruni, assistant dean for the Office of Retention and Research at WVU, is answering students’ questions online.
Ask Regan is posted on WVU’s MIX Web site and the WVU retention Web site. Officials hope to have the feature established on the WVU homepage in the future.
Emily Frye, professional technologist for WVU Web Services, created the cartoon picture of Bruni that appears with the application. Frye and Bruni met to discuss and develop graphics.
"I wanted the cartoon to feel friendly and fun while still keeping her associated with WVU," Frye said.
The result is a casual but professionally dressed brunette wearing some WVU apparel.
Bruni, who has been at WVU since 1991, first as a student, now as an employee, said Ask Regan will give students one place to go with any question they may have, instead of sending them to multiple departments.
"No one intends to give students the ‘campus-run-around,’ but it happens, mostly because offices have a very specific focus," Bruni said.
"I have seen many different circumstances and gained experience, so I feel comfortable sharing my knowledge with students."
Students can ask any questions that are related to WVU, and Bruni trys to respond within 24 hours.
