A panel discussion on the book "The Last Lawyer," written by a professor in West Virginia University’s Perley Isaac Reed School of Journalism, will take place today at 5:30 p.m. in the Law Center’s Marlyn E. Lugar Courtroom.

The discussion will focus on issues such as morality, the constitutionality of the death penalty and the journalistic process, as brought up in the book written by John Temple.

Ken Rose (death penalty attorney), Lonnie Simmons (West Virginia appellate lawyer) and Jay T. McCamic (sentencing mitigation expert), will make up the panel.

"The Last Lawyer" is based on the real-life experiences of Ken Rose and the law firm he worked for as they tried to save a death row inmate.

A question and answer session will follow the discussion.

The panel discussion is co-hosted by the WVU College of Law and the P.I. Reed School of Journalism.
