A stabbing occurred Sunday at the intersection of Third Street and Grant Avenue, but as of press time, the Morgantown Police Department had no solid leads. An argument began with two passing motorists, according to a press release. A male then exited from each vehicle and began fighting. After the altercation, one of the males stumbled to a porch and said he was stabbed before collapsing. Witnesses then called police and EMS. The Morgantown Police Department responded to the call at 2:24 a.m. The victim, a West Virginia University student, was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital. The assailant left the scene before police arrived, according to a University press release. "The detectives are following up on several leads," said MPD Sergeant J.H. Well. "As far as a good suspect, we don't know right now." More information should be available today, Well said. — mnh
