New basketball ticketing system a must for next season
Long lines in the cold, stampedes of students and hours wasted.
These are just a few problems with the current basketball ticketing system.
While the old system may have worked several years ago, the basketball team's increase in popularity has caused problems for students.
The solution is easy: Implement the online lottery system used for football.
How it would work: Students would be able to request tickets for three to four games at a time through the student ticketing site that is already in place.
Tickets would be awarded on a point system, exactly like football.
Students would scan their tickets at the door before the game and have a guaranteed seat.
This is a common sense solution to a growing problem.
The long lines are not only annoying and unsafe, but they are discouraging students from even trying to go to games.
The online ticketing system would increase safety, promote attendance and help students keep that lively Mountaineer spirit.
With both the women's and men's team success this change is essential. The structure and technology is already available, it is time to take action.
