The WVU Student Government Association passed four bills during Wednesday’s meeting.

In the first bill, the Assembly voted to sponsor the WVU chapter of the American Association of University Women’s 4th Annual Women’s Empowerment Night.

For the second bill, the Assembly voted for a resolution that made suggestions of how WVU can change its D/F repeat policy. 

In the third bill, the Assembly voted to sponsor WVU LAUNCHLAB’s “Student Organization Pitch,” which is on Feb. 15. Click here for more information. 

This bill also placed Senator Miguel Henriquez on the event’s judging panel.

In the fourth bill, the Assembly voted to support state laws promoting open educational resources, or OER.

Also in the meeting, Miriam Demasi was appointed to serve as director of Swipe Out Hunger.

The Assembly also approved these grants for the following student organizations:

  • $550 for the Industrial Relations Student Association

  • $1,800 for WVU Men’s Club Volleyball

  • $1,584 for Club Gymnastics

  • $1,154.28 for WVU Block and Bridle Club

  • $2,000 for Model United Nations

  • $1,014 for the Graduate Sociology Association

  • $1,360 for the Collegiate National Organization for Music Education

  • $1,400 for  WVU Mountain Mamas

  • $1,264.88 for the Consulting Club

  • $1,134 for the WVU Collegiate Horsemen’s Association
