A WVU student has been arrested and charged with making terroristic threats, according to a WVU news release.
University Police arrested Cheickna Kagnassy, a 21-year-old freshman pre-business student from Columbia, Maryland, at his residence in Vandalia Hall Wednesday evening, according to the release. Police were acting on a tip.
Deputy Chief Phil Scott said in the release that a concerned citizen notified police that Kagnassy had spoken of carrying out a “shooting spree,” then killing himself.
No weapons were found at Kagnassy’s residence, Scott said.
Kagnassy was taken to North Central Regional Jail for arraignment, according to the release. His bond was set at $75,000.
If released, he is not to be on WVU property, Scott said.
