“Excited for this opportunity, and I can’t wait to be apart of Mountaineer Nation!” Doege said in his tweet.

Doege will sit out of competition during the 2019 season according to NCAA transfer rules. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Serving as the starting quarterback for BGSU last season, Doege threw for 2,660 yards and completed 62% of his pass attempts. In his 12 starts, Doege connected for 27 touchdowns through the air while running for two more.

Following in the footsteps of Jack Allison and Austin Kendall, Doege is the third current quarterback on West Virginia’s roster to have transferred from another school.
