West Virginia cross country takes third place at the 2016 Big 12 Championship on Saturday in Lubbock, Texas.

Redshirt junior, Jillian Forsey finished in second place overall to put the Mountaineers the third place.

Three WVU runners recorded top 20 finishes out of 90 runners overall. Forsey finished in second with a time of 20:32, only finishing 14 seconds behind first place Kansas runner, Sharon Lokedi.

Forsey earned all- Big 12 honors for her performance on Saturday.

Redshirt junior, Maggie Drazba was also a top 20 finisher, crossing the line in 17th place with a time of 21:16. Amy Cashin finished in 20th with a time of 21:25.

Brianna Kerekes crossed the finish line in 34th with a time of 21:50. Megan Yuan finished in 38 th in 22:01. Brynn Harshbarger in 45th with a time of 21:16 and Olivia Hill in 48th with a time of 22:24.

Other finishers include Rebecca Wendt in 63rd (22:52), Candace Jones in 70th (23:14), and Allie Diehl in 80th (23:47).

Iowa State took home the Big 12 Championship title with a total score of 56 points, followed by Oklahoma State in second place with a score of 82 points. Third place, WVU had a total score of 111 points. Oklahoma took fourth and Baylor took fifth.

In two weeks, the Mountaineers return to State College, PA for the third time this season to run in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional meet on Friday, Nov. 11.
