West Virginia special teams coordinator and inside linebackers coach Blake Seiler is leaving Morgantown to become the defensive coordinator at Old Dominion, according to a FootballScoop report.
Seiler, who was at WVU for one season, has spent most of his coaching career at Kansas State. From 2009 to 2019, Seiler filled a variety of roles for the Wildcats, eventually becoming assistant defensive coordinator in 2017 and defensive coordinator in 2018.
Seiler will be a part of a new regime for the second year in a row as he joins new Old Dominion head coach Ricky Rahne, who was previously the offensive coordinator at Penn State. Rahne was named head coach of the Monarchs on Dec. 9.
The departure of Seiler marks the second lost assistant for the Mountaineers this offseason. On Dec. 21, wide receivers coach Xavier Dye departed to become the wide receivers coach at USF.
