The West Virginia University lacrosse team lost to Oklahoma, 15-6, in the final day of the Big 12 Classic.
The Mountaineers (2-1) managed to win the event, with a 2-1 record over the weekend, and have already equaled their win total from last season.
Eddy Arnold led the Sooners (3-2) with four goals, all unassisted. Austen Sanchez and Bray O'Connor added another three goals each.
Jac Gemmil led WVU with two goals.
Oklahoma opened up the game with a 4-0 lead and kept the Mountaineers scoreless in the second quarter to take a 9-3 lead from which WVU could not recover.
West Virginia returns to action on Saturday as they open up SELC play at No. 17 Liberty. The Flames crushed the Mountaineers, 24-1, in Martinsburg last season. Face off is set for 3 p.m.
