West Virginia forward Lamont West, who entered the NCAA transfer portal on Thursday, will be heading to Missouri State.

West, who will be graduating in May, will be immediately eligible to play for the Bears for the 2019-20 season. He will only have one year of eligibility.

This past season in Morgantown, West averaged 11.1 points per game and put up double figure scoring efforts in 11 of his last 12 games.

West joins many transfers on head coach Dana Ford's team. Other major college transfers include Josh Webster from Texas Tech, Tyrik Dixon from Middle Tennessee, Tulio Da Silva from South Florida, Josh Hall from Nevada and Jared Ridder from Xavier.

The Bears went 16-16 in 2018-19 and 10-8 in the Missouri Valley, finishing fourth in the conference. Missouri State's season ended in a 61-58 loss to eventual Missouri Valley champion Bradley at the conference tournament.
