Mens Big 12 Basketball Scoreboard

For the fifth time over the last six games, the West Virginia men's basketball team has found itself in the loss column.

Three different Mountaineers scored in double-digits on Monday night, but it wasn't enough as No. 20 WVU was defeated by Texas, 67-57.

Despite scoring the first basket of the game, West Virginia coughed up the lead with just over 14 minutes remaining in the first half. The Mountaineers were working from behind for the rest of the game, never drawing close enough to tie up the score.

WVU (19-9, 7-8) was led by forward Oscar Tshiebwe, who ranked first on the team with 14 points. He was closely followed up by Sean McNeil and Derek Culver, who scored 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Texas (17-11, 7-8), on the other hand, featured a much stronger offensive outpoint. The Longhorns shot 52% from the field,

Sophomore guard Andrew Jones led the Longhorns in scoring, posting a season-high 22 points. He was followed up by fellow guard Courtney Ramey, who ended the night with 21 points.

The Mountaineers will return to action on Saturday when the Oklahoma Sooners come to Morgantown. Tipoff from the WVU Coliseum will come at 4 p.m., and will be broadcast on ESPN2.
