The WVU volleyball team concluded the weekend with two wins on Saturday to move their record to 8-4 on the season.

The day started with a 3-0 victory over Eastern Kentucky and was followed up with a close 3-2 decision against Navy.

In the first match, sophomore Kristin Lux led the team with nine kills, followed by juniors Katie DeMeo and Audrey Adams with six. Adams is coming off a career game with 16 kills against Duquesne on Friday.

Defensively, sophomore Lacey Zerwas led the team with eight digs for the match.

In the night cap, the Mountaineers were tested with Navy responding to each set victory.  The final set ended with WVU taking a 15-8 win.

Junior Briana Lynch led the WVU offense with 14 kills, followed by sophomore Kristina Jordan and Lux with 13 each.

The defense was paced by junior Alexa Hasting with 22 digs.  Lux was second with 14 digs for the match.

This was the final weekend before Big 12 play begins, starting with a road trip to Texas Tech on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
