The West Virginia volleyball team finished the weekend with a 3-1 defeat to the Arizona Wildcats on Saturday.

The Mountaineers were able to come out on top in the first set, winning 32-30.  The Wildcats would take control of the match with back to back sets ending with double digit margins.  

The final set was tied at 19 before Arizona pulled away and won 25-19 to end the match.

Sophomore Kristina Jordan led the Mountaineers with 11 kills for the match.  Junior Briana Lynch followed with 10.

Defensively, West Virginia was paced by junior Alexa Hasting with 19 digs, followed by sophomores Keatan Broughton with 12, and Lacey Zerwas with 11.

WVU will finish with a 1-2 record in the San Diego State Tournament and is now 4-2 overall.

The Mountaineers will head to Honolulu, Hawaii to participate in the Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Volleyball Challenge this weekend, beginning with a 1 a.m. matchup with Hawaii on Friday morning.
