The West Virginia (6-3-1, 1-0 Big 12) women’s soccer team started Big 12 play with an impressive 2-0 victory over the Iowa State Cyclones (3-7-0, 0-1) on Friday night. 

Following a 15-4-4 season, two members of the WVU women’s soccer team have reaped the benefits of their success in Thursday’s National Women’s Soccer League draft.

In their second round matchup in the 2018 NCAA Tournament, the WVU women’s soccer team fought to a 2-2 draw with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Friday night.

Building off of their first-round win against the Radford Highlanders, the WVU women’s soccer team will take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Friday in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Thursday night ended in heartbreaking fashion for the West Virginia women’s soccer team as they watched their hopes at a Big 12 regular season championship diminish after falling to Kansas, 1-0, in overtime.

Coming in with a six match win streak, the 16th-ranked WVU women’s soccer team was unable to keep their winning ways alive as they battled to a 1-0 loss to the 24th-ranked Baylor Friday night at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.

In the first home Big 12 Conference matchup for the WVU women’s soccer team, the No. 23 Mountaineers eradicated the Kansas State Wildcats, 4-0. The Friday night victory gives WVU a 3-0 record in Big 12 Conference play for the first time since 2016.
