The West Virginia women’s soccer team earned its first top 25 victory of the season with a 2-0 win against No. 25 Georgetown on Saturday. The victory moved WVU on to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the fifth year in a row. 

For the first time since 2012, the West Virginia women’s soccer team did not advance to the Big 12 Conference tournament semifinals. The No. 4 seed Mountaineers lost to No. 5 seed Kansas in the quarterfinal round on Sunday, 2-0. 

With their victory last night, the West Virginia women's soccer team qualified as the No. 4 seed in the Big 12 tournament. They will face No. 5 seed Kansas on Sunday, Nov. 3, in the Big 12 quarterfinal.

The West Virginia (6-3-1, 1-0 Big 12) women’s soccer team started Big 12 play with an impressive 2-0 victory over the Iowa State Cyclones (3-7-0, 0-1) on Friday night.
