The West Virginia wrestling team traveled to Appalachian State University on Saturday to participate in the Mountaineer Invitational. 

The squad finished with seven top 5 finishers, including redshirt sophomore Noah Adams’ first place finish in the 197 pound weight class. Adams prevailed over Central Michigan's Landon Pelham in just 40 seconds with a takedown, winning him the class. 

Sophomore Caleb Rea and redshirt sophomore Joey Thomas finished third in the 141 lb and 125 lb classes, respectively, while redshirt freshman Alex Hornfeck (157 lb), freshman Scott Joll (174 lb), and senior Brandon Ngati (285 lb) earned fourth place honors. Redshirt junior Seth Hogue added a fifth place finish in the 149 pound class to round out the top 5 finishes for the Mountaineers. 

Other participants for the team included redshirt sophomore Hunter DeLong (184 lb), sophomore Jackson Moomau (184 lb), sophomore Lucas Seibert (133 lb), redshirt sophomore Sean Mullican (285 lb), sophomore Tucker Nadeau (174 lb), and redshirt freshman Wyatt Lutz (133 lb). 

Looking ahead, West Virginia will return to their first Big 12 Conference action of the year at Northern Colorado on Nov. 16.
