WVU cross country took third place at the Paul Short Invitational on Saturday at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA.
Jillian Forsey came in fourth place overall and finished first for the Mountaineers with a season-best time of 20:14. Maggie Drazba finished in 15th place with a time of career-best time of 20:27 and Amy Cashin finished 18th, also recording a career-best time of 20:32.
Other finishers include Megan Yuan in 32nd, Briana Kerekes in 58th and Brynn Harshbarger in 118th place. Each of these runners also recorded career-best times.
The Mountaineers finished with a total score of 127, surpassing Florida, who had a total of 175 points. WVU tied Penn in third place.
No. 29 Yale took first place with 97 points, followed by No. 19 Georgetown in second with 119 points.
The Mountaineers hope to continue their strong performances as they have a two-week training period until they return to State College, PA, to race at the Penn State Nationals on Oct. 14th.
